I saw a textpost a few weeks ago. I unfortunately didn't save it to any easy-to-find place, but essentially, it said every artist, every creator, has a personal theme to their life.
I think mine is grief. Grief of death, of moving on, of not being who you thought you were going to be.
Grief shows up in many of my works, especially recently.
- DAWNLESS explores the grief of losing someone you love
- project.death explores grief in its many facets.
- HERETICS is the grief of losing a childhood faith. It's the grief of not being who you thought you were going to be when you grow up.
- A LOVELY LITTLE CUP OF MADNESS is about going crazy, of feeling crazy, the grief of losing yourself.
Maybe that's why it's so hard for me to write cozy fantasy.
